Teaching Philosophy
The truth about art is that the experience is a constant journey.  Rooted in culture, discipline, creative experimentation and the anticipation of discovery.....
we partake in our artistic path.
Art is always there for us. Art imitates life, reflects our emotion and imagination as it broadens our knowledge of self, family & community.
The studio experience is unique in that we come together to present a creative idea and then proceed to explore the possibilities.
Creativity allows us to take time for ourselves, strengthen our self confidence and nurture our individuality.
The fundamentals of art become evident as students engage in the creative process using natural and man made materials, discovering methods of inspiration, learning about artists, culture and art history.
Various studio experiences in Drawing & Painting include traditional and contemporary methods and techniques.

Additional topics include: calligrams, frottage, abstract expressionism, pop art, surrealism, self portrait grid drawing, drawing and painting from observation and
the imagination.
